The Car

The Car

What would people do without the invention of the car? They would end up walking everywhere just like they use to in the old days. I know I love having the luxury of having a car to take me from place to place. Who really made the car; there are a lot of answers to this question. Whoever did I am so thankful they did because I hate walking anywhere. Cars have come a long way. Cars weren’t always powered by gasoline. In 1672, Ferdinand Verbiest designed and built a steam powered and then in 1885, the German inventor named Karl Benz created the first ever car powered by an internal combustion engine. These were really just proto types for wealthy buys and royalty. In today’s society Cars area available to any one that’s able to afford one. One that I must admit is that the cars in the olden days are more environment friendly than modern day cars. Today’s modern day car is harmful to the environment and plays a part in global warming. Car companies today are turning to solar powered cars and electric powered cars. Solar powered cars allow the cars to run on the sun. so as long as you have sun you have energy. Electrical powered cars run on a battery that you charge at home. The downfall, what if you forget to charge the battery then you are out of luck. This is my favorite thing about cars, you can make any cars you personal taste. There are companies that sell things call body kits for nearly every car that is on the market. So you can buy an old school kind of car and make it look good as new and stylish.

The MPK49

The MPK49

The MPK49 is a MIDI over USB performance keyboard and pad controller for programmers, producers, writers, DJs, and other musicians. The MPK49 is an instrument for the studio and the stage. This first of the kind controller that marries classic MPC pads and assignable Q-links controllers with a bonus 49- key bed is something that we have never experienced yet. This instruments no mere controller, its way more than that. This is a performance instrument.
The MPK49 is known for its controls; after all it is a controller. The MPK49 has a bank of 16 velocity and pressure-sensitive MPC pads are just an Akai bonus. The MPK49 also allows you to control nearly any parameters in your software in real time. You will also get 8 Q-link faders. This device is a DJ career at the tips of your fingers. The MPK49 also give you a dedicated set of transport controls for instant access to the most commonly used DAW (digital audio workstation) or sequencing-software controls without even thinking about touching the mouse. The MPK49 keyboard is a semi-weighted and has a feature called after touch. This allows you to capture your entire performance and play it back. The MPK49 can also be used as a regular piano or a rhythmic and melodic machine. This is what caught my attention; the MPK49 is capable with a MAC and PC. The MPK49 doesn’t even need batteries; all you need is a USB power cord. So as long as you have that you’re in business. The MPK94 just gave birth to an little brother, the MPK25. The MPK25 is based closely on the MPK49, which was the first MIDI controller to feature MPC pads. The smaller frame makes the MPK25 a more portable and perfect travel companion. The MPK25 combines a 25-key keyboard and 12 genuine MPC pads. MPK25 places dedicated transport controls within your reach for easy reach and control. Some might think that the mini MPK49 is better because of its great portability and easy access. The MPK25 also has modulation and pitch bend wheels for expressive musicality. The most important input device on it is its Q-link assignable control section. The MPK25 is a MIDI controller that sends its MIDI values over USB. It is bus powered, so all you need to connect and power the MPK25 is the supplied USB cable. Because it is MIDI compliant, the MPK25 works with most MIDI recording, sequencing, and performance software for musical performers from keyboard players to producers to DJ.

SONY

Sony

Sony is an involving company of technology and entertainment. Sony makes everything from cameras to gaming systems. Something they also are great at is making laptops and desktops. I really don’t have anything bad to say about Sony.
Their laptops are so great and high in quality. Sony is one of the leading companies in technology. Some people compare them to apple, which one do you think are better. I say it’s Sony all the way. They are just amazing. They have good quality products but here is the switch. Sony doesn’t over price their products. Let’s talk about their laptops. The only word I can think of that’s goes with their laptops is amazing. Sony makes laptops or specific things such as business, entertainment, and pleasure. This great company also makes media things like mp3 players and stereo systems. Sony is just a company of all trades. The only thing they need to do now is get into the car business. Sony technology is involving fast so the competition better watch out. Now everything has its downfalls and let’s talk about Sony’s. Sony has good products but a lot of times their products have glitches and problems. Take the play station 3 for instance. When the play station 3 first came out it had a lot of problems such as having bad disk tray causing the games or DVDs being unable to be played as said in Slash Gear. Sony had also had some call backs in their media players as well. Their media players were not allowing people to sync their music onto their devices. Although Sony is amazing they still have a long way to go

The Evoution of the camera

The evolution of the camera

Cameras have come a long way since they were first invented in 1827. There are many types of cameras currently on the market. The camera is something a lot of people use to share their experiences. Cameras are evolution of life and its growing with every picture taken. Cameras are not something that everyone had in the olden days.
In 1940 the first colored photographs were produced. I think some people got tired of the regular black and white. A little while later the first underwater camera was introduced. This was a dream come true for water lovers like me. This allowed people to not only take regular pictures but pictures underwater. This is just simply amazing. This was originally produced for the navy, but then was introduced to the rest of the world. The world came to an stand still when disposal cameras came to exist. This was so convenient and easy. When you are done taken the pictures that the camera allows you to take you just take out the film and throw away the camera. This is something that had a very big impact on me. The digital cameras were just simply amazing. These cameras had features such as home printing options, video options, and the ability to delete photos. You are also able to transfer media via memory card. Cameras are just in everybody’s hands nowadays. Cameras are even in most electronics these days. Most cell phones have cameras in them. Cell phones have cameras that are sometimes too good to be true. Some laptops even have cameras and webcams in them. You may not believe this but they even have cameras on transportation such as things like trains, aircrafts, cars, and even boats. Most people wouldn’t think that the cameras on these various things would be good in quality or clarity. They even use cameras for surveillance. This is exactly why cameras are so easily used and bought. You can even buy cameras in different forms.
You can even buy cameras from a regular store like wal-mart or target. The cameras you buy from the store are great pieces of equipment. These types of cameras are great for pleasure and business. The thing that is amazing is that these cameras are affordable. There is no doubt that the evolution of cameras will continue to evolve for many years the come.

The history and timeline of DJing

Djing is a thing that makes music just that much more fun to listen to. Djing doesn’t interest everyone but that doesn’t apply to me. Everybody has their favorite songs but what If you can remix it and add things to your favorite songs, that’s just amazing.
Now invented the first turntable? This is actually a question that has to answers. Leon Scott created something call the phonograph, which is the beginning of the turntable legacy. That’s not all though, it took the invention of the phonograph cylinder by Thomas Edison to bring it all together. This invention allowed people to record and play back sound. In 1906, Reginald Fessenden played the first record over the air. As modern people know of Djing being played in the club, it wasn’t always viewed like that. Surprisingly in Jamaica, parties began to be thrown on large sound systems. This was the true modern party scene. At this point in history of Djing, many of the main skills and techniques still haven’t been found, such as beat matching and scratching. In 1965 the first stereophonic disco system debuts at the 1964-1965 world’s fairs in New York. Then a guy named David Mancuso started to throw after-hours parties in his loft in New York. That later became known as “The Loft”. Then David met another guy named Alex Rosner and together they set a new standard for clubs everywhere. After a while Alex Rosner designed the first Djing mixer for a club called Haven.

In 1974 Grandmaster Flash develops “Quick Mix Theory” for cutting and mixing records. This was very exciting for the people because you could make the music your own. After about a year Grand Wizzard Theodore invents scratching. This is something that I personally love to do with my turntables. Scratching is something that just makes music amazing and super fun to listen to. Scratching was really just rocking the record back and forth to create a scratching sound. In 1977 the mixers were introduced to the world. A DJ mixer is a type of audio mixing console that allows DJs to have the ability to redirect a non-playing source to headphones. This allows for an easier transition between two sources. Also in 1977 the GLI PMX 7000 Mixer was the first affordable DJ mixer, it later became known as the “poor man’s Bozak”. Mixers were a big part of Djing. A mixer usually consists between two and six stereo channels. They also have equalizers; this is used to fade parts of tracks in and out. Some DJ mixers come with a crossfader curve controls which is mainly for speed scratching. Now let’s get to the good stuff, turntables. In 1978 the SL-1200 Mark2 took the Djing world by storm. This allowed people to DJ on 12” vinyls. A few years later in 1981 the invention of the beat maker was introduced to the world. This allowed DJs to set a beat on a timing scale and make another beat over it and DJ along with it.
After all of this in 1982 the first MIDI controller appered in the DJ scene. The MIDI (Musical Instructment Digital Interface) is a controller that enables electronic musical intruments such as keyboard controllers, computers, and other elctronic equipment to communicate, control, and synthesizers with each other. The MIDI controller alllows everything that’s hooked up to it exchange system data.through 1984 to 1999 their werent really any new inventions for the Djing community. Their were just upgrades and new products of the same company and model. Year 2001 is when every thing changed, the world was introduced to the very first digital vinyl turntable. This was the best thing that hit the Djing community. This allowed DJs to use regular CDs instead of using 12” vinyls. The new turntable also had a touch sensitive platter that accurately emulated a vinyl turntable. The DJ community started to get newer and more andvanced mixers and MIDI controllers. They started to come with more features and able to be connected to more things. Then the computer turntables came to life. You were able to use your computer as a turntable and your mouse was the vinyl pad. In 2004, the best of both worlds came to this world. You were now able to purchase a turntable that allowed you to mix with vinyls or a CD. So wheather you like using vinyl or cd or maybe you like both, you can have it. 2004 also introduced the first DVD/CD turntable. I don’t really why you would use a DVD for Djing but there must be a reason for this invention. Last but not least, the year 2009 had the Rane SL 3 Interface. This was a Serato Scratch Live is introduced with 3 phono/line inputs, 3 outputs and 24-bit processing board. This is what DJs have been introduced to.

Virtual vinyl

Virtual Vinyl

Virtual vinyl is the next step in vinyl DJing. Virtual vinyl is a system/software that mixes the best of both worlds. Everybody knows that the world I moving to everything digital but this invention allow you to do that as well while still being able to mix with your vinyls. If you want to be a DJ that means that you are in control of the vibe, the energy, the heads and hip of the event that you are DJing at. So why wouldn’t you want to be in control of your rig. Key Lock is something that allows you to hold a pitch while you independently adjust the BPM. Virtual Vinyl also allows you to create seamless loops for super fresh remixes easily. CUE software is software that gives you the exact BPM and can assist or even take over pitch matching and beat-matching. CUE has a feature that can kind of be compared to a search engine. On CUE you can easily search your system by to locate audio or video by title, artist, BPM, track length, and even by comments. Hers is another amazing feature, files are automatically added to CUE’s global search database when you add them to your system by downloading, importing, inserting, or connecting them to your DAW (digital audio workstation)
The new Virtual Vinyl 6 is new and improved. Virtual Vinyl has a brand new time code engine that is more accurate and responsive than ever before. Whatever kind of music you do you must purchase this product because it’s for every musician.

singularity essay

In the near future scientists believe in transforming the notion in what it means to be human. Scientists are starting to unlock the secrets of the human braid moving us to the moment when it will be possible to store our memories in machines. This future solution is so life threaten to some people that a man was even killed from trying to prevent it from ever happening. This will allow us to make better humans, human’s version 2.0.
Some scientist believe things like children in the future will live in a world with tremendous computing power including computers that can do more than any other computer could have possibly done. Others believe that children of the future will be able to download their thoughts, stored their memories, and interface with machines but for other this type of future is something to fear. Sometime in the future computers will soon equal the power of the human brain. This moment is called the singularity
Dr. Jose Delgado was investigating the area of a bull’s brain. Dr. Delgado took control of the bull’s brain by placing electrodes in the bull’s brain that were responsible for the bull’s anger and movement, Dr. Delgado could transmit radio that would in theory tame the
massive bull. To test his theory he got in the ring with the bull and tamed it using the radio signals. Delgado was trying to understand the tactics of the human brain.
Ray Kurzweil is another professor involved in the singularity. Dr. Kurzweil was the first to make a computer that could read. As Kurzweil said if the predictions are right we will understand the humans brain the same time at almost the exact same time computers equal the same amount of power as the human’s brain. Creating machines that are a billon more times capable than a human is what makes up the Singularity. There was another experiment similar to Dr. Delgado but this one involved a mouse done by John Chapman. In this experiment John Chapman outs a radio in and on top of the mouse allowing him to have control over this animal. While he had control over the mouse he didn’t have complete control like Dr. Delgado did over the bull. With the mouse the radio signals ordered him to even go left or right but it had the option to go in which ever direction it choose. If the mouse did what it was told the mouse was giving a feeling of happiness of some sort to its mind and of course everybody likes happy feeling, so the mouse did what it was told. The way scientists are using radio signals to controlled can someday come back and haunt us. Think about somebody controlling humans in everything they do. People and animals should have the right to do what they want unless they are a harm to other they should not be controlled. Technology has been growing rapidly over he year and its only going to get more advanced.
Then their came another scientist named Miguel Coleus, who used a monkey in his experiment. When he first started this experiment he trained a monkey to play a video game that’s calls for the monkey to use a joystick and move it around on the monitor. While the monkey is moving the joystick there is an robotic arm moving in the same direction in another room. This is all happening because the monkey MIND is controlling the video game and the robotic arm. This is what made a milestone in today’s technology. While the monkey was playing the game he let go of the joystick, but it was still playing the game and the robotic arm was still moving in the same direction as the video game. This convinced and proved to scientist that the mind could interface with machines. All the monkey was doing was allowing its brain to do all the work and interact with the machines.
The next scientist is Philip Kennedy who is a doctor and neuroscientist. In the video there is a boy named Eddie Ramsey. Now Eddie was in a car accident and it left him paralyzed from the neck down. The experiment that the scientists are running on Eddie involves Eddie having connectors on and in his head. When he is enduring the experiment he thinks what he wants to say and I computer says it. This is one of the technology evolutions that can be really appreciated. Most scientist experiments tells that the future will have a new beginning. The brain is one of the most powerful parts on the human body. The scientist I talked about did this for a reason, to explore and to find out information about the human mind. A man was even killed trying to stop the singularity. The singularity is taking over and there really nothing you can do to stop it. It’s coming and its coming fast so buckle up and e ready for a bumpy ride.
